How to add network adapter on Hyper-V?
You are
trying to add network adapter on Hyper-V that means either you are
leaving VMware or you are new to Hyper-V, but in both the cases you are
going to use an awesome technology to virtualize your system and its
resources.
I had be a
fan of VMware for its numerous qualities but as we know that one
negative is enough to forget 100 positives this happened with me as
well. In my case during the implementation of Remote Windows
Installation my softinspire.blogspot.com deployment got no success and failed multiple times
because of the Intel adapter. I searched about this for 4 continuous day
to get any solution and later on a website I found the clear
notification about the unsupported adpater was causing that error
message. The network adapter was not compatible or I would say not
supported by Deployment services. I had no choice except leaving VMware
with this fault.
Choosing Hyper-V as an alternative of VMware was not disappointing at all or rather it was a blessing in disguise. As soon as I added Hyper-V in Windows 8
so that I could perform the same phase of implementation and
deployment, as I was a green hand in Hyper-V I began to encounter some
problems from the very beginning.
The first
thing that I noticed I have to add network adapter on Hyper-V manually
or in different way I need to create a network adapter for it. It took
some time for me to understand the platform of Hyper-V but later it
proved right to be with Hyper-V. I am going to tell you how I added
network adapter on Hyper-V.
Steps To Add Network Adapter On Hyper-V:
Step#1: Right click on the server and click Virtual Switch Manager
Step#2: Select New Virtual network switch then external or internal then click Create Virtual Switch.
Step#3: Give
that switch a name then select that adapter through which your physical
machine and virtual machine should communicate. You can choose the LAN
adapter of your physical machine. click on apply ok. The switch is
created.
Step#4: To
add that switch to machine, simply right click on that machine on which
you want to add that adapter and click Settings.
Step#5: Go to Network Adapter then Add (Network Adapter)virtual switch that you have created.
The network adapater is added on Hyper-V
