Solved: DVD Drive Is Missing In Windows 8
Windows 8 has got lot's of happiness for me, but I was surprised when I found that DVD drive was missing after the installation. This was really surprising because I always install Windows through Bootable USB drive so I never needed DVD drive to install windows however I need the drive to burn some DVD for video. Initially I was thinking that there could be the driver issues because it was working fine in windows 7 hence it should have been working in windows 8 as well but that turned into a softinspire.blogspot.com different issue for me.
I started to think if the drive was hidden but that disappointed me because that was not hidden actually later after spending sometime the resolution was eventually found and I am going to share the same with you.
Steps to Recover Missing DVD Drive in Windows 8
- Go to run and search cmd and then right click on it and click run as administrator
- In Run type regedit.exe and hit enter.

- Navigate through this path and make sure you change the values like this
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
